Happy Days

Here are some pics from our end of preschool fun and Mac's birthday celebrations.

Mac at his preschool graduation, giving his I'm ready for kindergarten look. He was very disappointed to learn that he would not be starting at his new school the week after his graduation.

Here are some pics of the boys and I (taken by the boys even!) on our weekly 'hike' through Memorial Park.

More park pics and apologies for the sideways photos my computer seems to be dying a slow death with one function going at a time.

Lachlan is by far the happiest person in the family (when he's not being tormented by an older sibling or having his request for more gummy vitamins denied).

Here is Mac at his birthday dinner at Rajin Cajun. He truly is his fathers son as he basks in the joy of receiving a free collectors cup for his big day.

Bath time is an overcrowded affair at the moment so I thought it was worth documenting.
And finally the party of the century or half decade at least. Mac had the time of his life at Grandpa Scott and Grandma Marcela's pirate themed party for his fifth birthday.

The following shots were taken by Hamilton. He has become quite the insistent cameraman these days so I thought I'd honor his efforts with some inclusion on the blog.

This was one magical birthday. A big thanks to the Grandparents for going the extra mile.

The Heat is On

After a pretty cool Texas spring, the blow dryer in your face humidity and heat of the summer are once again upon us. Cameron has been home for the past two weeks before his internship starts in Dallas and we've been loving every minute of it. Daily trips to the pool and family runs at the park have been keeping us busy yet relaxed (well as relaxed as one can be with three crazy little boys running around). Cameron drove to Dallas tonight to kick off our 9 weeks apart during his internship. I remain cautiously optimistic about my chances of retaining my sanity during this time period. Here are some pictures of the boys over the past few weeks.
Here Mac proudly displays the remnants of his pirate paint from a Rice MBA party.
The boys were so excited about their homemade Thomas masks, though admittedly I found them a little spooky looking once they were on and may have secretly disposed of them soon after.
Checking out the puddles in our apartment complex after a torrential rain.
The rest of the pics are from Mac's preschool class trip to the Braes Bayou Gradens and Ima Hogg Mansion.   The poor woman was given such a heinous name but sure had a knack for home design and gardening. The grounds were gorgeous and the boys had a blast exploring. Also a shout out to the rich people who had their Magdalena Abakanowicz sculptures proudly displayed in their driveway. She was such a big influence on my art making as an undergrad and I'd never seen her work in person before. I'm not ashamed to admit that I sat peeking through their gate for several minutes after their gate closed, looking a little suspect to be sure.
 Lachlan and his buddy Bradley.
