An Oldie but a Goodie

The Herman Park team, not the winningest alas but certainly the most fun.
I'm officially old and I have the sore knees and achy back to prove it. Today I defied my age and made it back out onto the volleyball court for a friendly church tournament and I was amazed at how much I loved playing. When I finished up college volleyball I felt more than ready to be done but today I realized how much I've missed playing and what fun it can be. I'm going to try and spearhead an open gym night once a week and see if I can keep the good vibes going.

Birthday Boy

Lachlan turned one yesterday and we celebrated with a cake and a visit from my dad, Marcela, Sean and Craig. Lachlan was a little tired but obligingly ate almost his entire piece of cake while rubbing his eyes. We are settling in slowly but surely. Cameron has one more week of his immersion program and is really liking his program thus far. We miss having him around but are slowly exploring parts of the city ourselves.

The End is Near

We have about five days left in Spokane before the big move to Houston and I'm beginning to feel a little dizzy about the prospect of starting over in a new city. In the meantime we've been trying to make the most of our last few weeks by visiting family and friends, seeing new sights, and visiting our favorite hangouts.
Cameron and I fancy ourselves quite the amateur photographers, and as proof here's the best self portrait from our anniversary camp out near Sandpoint, ID.
The boys and I hanging out on the lawn after church.

We had a lovely Sunday dinner with Cameron's grandma Patty and her husband Vic. Patty inspires me as she continues to pursue her love of dancing and travel well into her 80's.

We took a trip to the park with our friends the Hawkins who we will miss dearly.

Our attempt at reverse psychology was clearly a big success as we asked Mac and Lucy to make their grumpiest face for the camera.

Happenings

Here are some pics of what we've been up to over the past few weeks.
Lachlan was the recipient of an enormous amount of attention from his cousin Maren at the Fourth of July picnic today.

The weather finally cooperated allowing us to take our yearly trip to the water park to celebrate Mac's birthday.

Mac doing his "work" as he likes to call it. He spends about half his day in the back yard where he is self employed as a "worker man".

The Grand Finale

Many thanks to Grammy Nicole for housing three crazy boys and one crazy mom for almost three weeks. The boys actually did pretty well on this vacation and only started to get a little home sick in the last day or so. Here are pictures from various hikes at Sundance and American Fork canyon as well as our trip to the AF pool.

It was so great to meet up with Trina at Kwanis Park. Wellesley friends are the best!
 Cameron is the best dad.

Grammy and Lachlan became great buddies on this trip. Whenever he saw Grammy, Lachlan would give his widest toothless grin and start bouncing up and down.

Mac is all about the tongue in photos these days.
