Sayings

I usually feel too tired or am too busy to write down cute things my kids say, but this gem from the car ride yesterday caused me to pull out the ol' pen and paper so I could record it for posterity or at least the grandparents.

Hamilton (pointing at a Salvador Dali painting): Look at these melty clocks.

Me: He painted things you might see in a dream.

Hamilton: (very serious) One time I had a clogged toilet in my dream.

Fall Pics

Fall festival at Mac's school.

I've been making some skirts and this one was not fit to be sold but it was just acceptable enough to be worn to church.

Mac has been playing YMCA soccer for the last few weeks. He really likes his coach but only seems to be interested in playing about a third of the time. He does love to run as fast as possible though during those times he does feel like playing as evidenced by shot below.

I had a great time going on Mac's first school fieldtrip with him and his kindergarten class to the Oil Ranch (a very Texas location).

My Dad and Marcela have just installed a hammock in their backyard and it has proved to be just as exciting as a trampoline.
Lachlan's original fashion choices deserve to be documented for posterity.
Mac has joined the gardening club which meets every Friday after school. The little brothers and I joined him one week much to Hamilton's delight and Lachlan's dismay.

Here are some pics and video of a preschool fieldtrip from Hamilton's co op. Hamilton has become quite the story teller these days, with his favorites being the three little pigs and the billy goats gruff.

Finally some amazing Halloween costumes courtesy of Cameron's efforts and a youtube tutorial.

summer recap

Our motto around the Hatch house is better late than never, so in that spirit here are our pics from our month in Spokane. The farm was little boy paradise and I enjoyed it for the free time I suddenly had as my children ran wild for hours at a time.

We had a great time visiting with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Willie. The boys rode around on toy tractors and Mac got to take a drive down to Spalding autoparts with Grandpa.
Cameron's mom Joy hosted a cub scout activity and the boys were in heaven surrounded by older boys, arrows, games and marshmallows.

Every few minutes Lachlan could be found sneaking more treats from the marshmallow shooting area.

Mac's dreams came true as he was finally reunited with his best pal Lucy at the farm. They picked raspberries, had a tea party and held kitties to their hearts content.

We were so lucky to spend time with our cousins the Rippy's at the beach by their home. They were also kind enough to take us out on their boat for Lachlan's birthday celebration.

Finally after an absence of many weeks we were reunited with Cameron in Spokane. His internship was great but being separated for so long is no fun at all. We are happy to report that he accepted a job offer at Deloitte IT consulting in Dallas. So one more year at Rice in Houston and then we're heading up north.

Each of the boys have a birthday tradition and Lachlan's is to ride on a train so we made sure to stop by the small train at Riverfront Park.
