Ma and Me

Today it was particularly misty and atmospheric so my mom and I decided to embrace our inner renaissances fair participant and take some ethereal shots in my front yard. Hopefully we cemented our status as the oddest folks on the block.

The Turkey Trot

We braved the bitter cold Thanksgiving morning to start off the day with a nice three mile run around Manito park. It was a lot of fun and Mac did really well wrapped up in every blanket we own. There were what seemed like hundreds of people of all ages at the park and starting the day off with a run helped to alleviate any guilt about eating mass quantities of food later in the day. We're definitely going to make it a family tradition.

baby bamboo

My friend Tatiana from UCSB bought Mac a great little outfit by Kicky Pants (http://www.kickypants.com/) and I have fallen in love with their fabric. Their clothes are made out of 90% bamboo and it is incredibly soft and it absorbs moisture better than cotton (which is great for my drooly guy).

Ahh, to travel....

This morning I've spent too much time snuggled up in my pj's looking at random design blogs from france and italia and it has made me nostalgic for a nice cioccolata calda and the beautiful architecture of firenze.

Here we are enjoying the best (and thickest) hot chocolate in the world.

My favorite italian man, my wonderful professor Filippo Caprioglio.

My favorite italian home, Palladio's Villa Rotunda.

And finally the beautiful countryside, 17th century buildings, and new modernist structures all side by side.

Cameron's commentary

Cam asked that I post this pic as an accurate representation of his post election sentiments.

Halloween

Here we are in costume at Aunt Dana's party. I find it amusing that this was Mac's first Halloween costume considering neither Cam nor I are really into football. But Mac was a good sport (no pun intended) and seemed pretty happy in spite of being stuffed into his costume with loads of scrap fabric around his head.
