Fall festivities begin...

For the first time since we've had children it seems like the holiday's will be a never ending kid extravaganza without much effort on our part thanks to family events, preschool and church activities. The boys are excited to debut their Thomas the Tank Engine outfits (which much to my joy were $10 at a garage sale) tomorrow at Mac's preschool parade. I'm looking forward to seeing if I can control three crazy boys once their full of Halloween candy, we'll see.

pumpkin picking

The good news is that Mac is getting a lot better at writing his name. The bad news is that we discovered this by looking at the dashboard of our car.
Last Saturday we took a trip to Walter's Fruit Ranch to pick out some pumpkins and play in their enormous sandbox full of dried peas. As you can see from below Mac took the rule about no throwing peas very seriously.

When we first started looking for a pumpkin Mac was unimpressed an declared that, "This place is dirty and cold". Grammy would be so proud that her love of cleanliness has been passed down through the generations!

Poor Lachlan never seems to get a good photo these days, he's either sleeping, eating or in his car seat.

Here's an ode to Hamilton's crazy hair, I can't get enough of this mad scientist look.

And finally pics from our trip to the park. Hamilton discovered a love of hanging from the bars and proceeded to hang for about three minutes, impressing all around.

Out on the lawn

With Grammy away spending her vacation on an actual vacation this month instead of enjoying the luxury of the Hatch basement I'm trying to do a better job of getting day to day pics of the boys. Lachlan is opening his eyes quite a bit these days and much to my amazement I actually have a blue eyed child, hard to believe. In the grand tradition of mom blogs, Mac has been saying some pretty funny things lately, for example this exchange from today in our backyard while he was pretending to make soup with rocks and leaves and water:
Mac: "I'm blowing fire onto my soup to make a wish"
Me: "oh, what are you wishing for?"
Mac: "my soup"

I caught Lachlan in a very stretchy mood.
